Hello, and welcome to Dragonbane. There's a joke there but you hafta figger it out! I am sure you have at some point wondered about why there would be
a huge "red" sand dune in the middle of nowhere; well now you know it's because there is a Dragon under there!
Step carefully; VERY carefully!
Oh, by the by; NO RIGHT CLICKING ALLOWED! You might anger the Dragon.
What is Dragonbane? This is a fantasy idea template I created using pieces I swiped from the Win XP desktop gallery and a dragon pic I found just surfing about.
This page is coded in XHTML, and uses CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) for the basic styling. Why? Well because I was bored from seeing all the plain box looking templates ! LOL!
Plenty of text space on this one I think. I could bore you with trivia or some Latin gibberish but this should suffice.
OOPS ! Almost forgot to try some links in the page text.
The Starlite Cafe is a Dragon Friendly place!
This little dragon can write!
This page has 3 small main grapic parts, not including my Dragon pic. Once the CSS sheet is set up you can repeat the design any number of times! Graphics are not coded into the page except for the additional one like the Dragon, and all text (color, font face, size) is handled in the style sheet so there is no trying to match subsequent pages.
I am currently working on making this same page with the columns switched. Moving the navbar to the left with the smaller of the two column being on the left side. Same otherwise all around and that is what is so neat about CSS. A few minor changes in the style sheet and a basic rename of the DIVs in the HTML and viola !
Here is a list of things
This looks like tables but it isn't! CSS makes it easy to align text into columns and give the appearance of tables similar to what was used in older HTML code. This column is 490 wide using auto margins left and right with a 25 margin to the bottom The text will wrap into this space and the column will grow in length as needed. Easier to code text because you do not need to add serious line breaks to get the text to stay where you put it!
This column is 300 wide because that fit with my pic size, and still allows some room for text stuff. Text here is purely optional. Looks like a good place for a list to hang out?
The most hated things - at least one in three people surveyed say they will avoid sites with these.
57.4% will avoid sites that require a paid subscription
49.9% will avoid sites with ads for porn
49.2% will avoid sites that pop up ads when you leave
41.9% will avoid sites that automatically play music
38.9% will avoid sites with ads for online gambling
34.5% will avoid sites with so many ads that they have to scroll for content
34.5% will avoid sites with pop-up or pop-under ads
I add all these notes for my personal references, please don't think it is because I am daft !
