Stand out phrase here
This is a simple single column design with
a nav bar on the left side.
The text here will auto wrap into this space and should continue to make the page as long as required to include everything. This light blue background here is nice but can be changed. The font is 1 em Tahoma or default 10 pt in navy blue, black might be a better choice. Using the em value allows who ever is viewing this to see the font in their "Default" browser font size. I am adding old text stuff as a trial.
"So you want to put a picture in your page?
Well that brings up a whole barrel of topics and different possibilities.
Some I can tell you and others you will need to find out as you go along.
Ok for starters we will discuss different types of picture files. For ease of further discussion I will refer to these as graphics OK?
There are numerous file types when we start dealing with graphics and probably even more invented since I last counted. My last count was somewhere between 40 and 50, but that was several days ago. (that is an eternity in internet time)
I will not bother you with all the different ones and all the whys and wherefores. For now we will discuss the 3 main types commonly found on the internet.
First we must talk about the old standard, surely everyone knows or has heard of a Bitmap, you would find those generally in OLD files or as Icons in your computer's system files. These graphics can be identified by the .BMP extension.
Now for something a bit more up to date we can move to the GIF format graphics. Way back in '89 (that's 1989) Compuserve came up with a new way of compressing the data within a graphic file and we now have the Graphic Interchange Format for some of the graphic files you might find. I can assure you that you have seen these, most any graphic you have seen that seems to be animated is in the .GIF family.
Now with the internet being what it is and limited in capacity someone got smart and thought that if they can't change how big the hole is for the internet then change the size of what you are trying to push through it. With that the Joint Photographic Experts Group was born, and graphics were better than ever. You would see this graphic file with several possible extensions ~~ .jpeg is most common or ~~ .jpg or even ~~ .jpe." O.T.S. 1999
I could go on and on but this is just a test page. I really like the rounded frame look on this. This is a nice soft blue design that is appealing to almost anyone... I think?
